Sam Smith Performs New Song “Burning” Live at the Hackney Round Chapel

By

Ahead of releasing his much-anticipated sophomore album The Thrill of It All, Sam Smith shares a special performance of his brand new song “Burning.”

The English crooner recorded a live set from the grand Hackney Round Chapel in London. Joined by a few musicians and background singers, the piano-laden ballad finds Smith emoting over a heated past relationship.

As he relishes in the pain he sings: “Funny how time goes by / Had respect for myself / That river ran dry / You reached a limit / I wasn’t enough / It’s like the fire replaced all the love.”

“Burning” follows the Timbaland-produced “Pray” and the lead single “Too Good at Goodbyes.”

The Thrill of It All will be released everywhere on Friday, November 3.
