New Music: Jacob Banks – Chainsmoking

By

Love can be a drug, and Jacob Banks needs to break the addiction on his new song “Chainsmoking.”

The soulful British singer/songwriter follows up “Unholy War,” with the futuristic blues tune off his forthcoming EP.

Confessing to his deep addiction to a lover, Banks sings with commanding presence, “It’s getting harder to breath, chainsmoking your love / Can’t be good for my sanity / Can’t be good for my lungs.”

“’Chainsmoking’ is about understanding that shit may be hard, but we push on any way,” he told The FADER. “I am really happy to share it, the sound mixes old and new vibes which is done across the EP in different colors.”

Jacob Banks’ anticipated new project The Boy Who Cried Freedom is due out in April. Take a listen to “Chainsmoking” below.
