Today’s new artists often wear multiple hats, learning their craft across the board and beyond. As is the case for Toronto native Tory Lanez, a singer/rapper/producer and musician, who has been building a buzz and strong following for a few years now.
Blessing fans with his brand new R&B driven mixtape ‘Chixtape 2‘ (the first one dropped in 2011), Tory looks to build on his artistry and place among today’s growing crop of Swag&B artists.
The 14-track project contains all original songs, along with interludes from Power 106’s own DJ Carisma. A strong Toronto influence can be heard through the mellow, spacy and often overly filtered beats, but Tory finds a perfect balance on his unique interpolations of many ’90s classics, including ”Pony,” “All That,” “No Scrubs” and more; he handles production himself along with Tim Curry, PlayBack, and the Mekanics.
