Listen: Jhené Aiko Joins The Chainsmokers on “Wake Up Alone”

By

The Chainsmokers have been consistently killing the charts, and providing anthems for clubs everywhere. Today (Apr. 7), the duo have released their debut album Memories…Do Not Open, which features a hypnotic collaboration with Jhené Aiko, called “Wake Up Alone.”

Over a pulsating beat, Aiko reflects on her success and a love affair. “Now I got cars, now I got clothes, now I got money / Now I got crowds screaming my name, saying they love me / You get real close, say I’m not alone / You understand me / But late at night when I close my eyes, the quiet scares me,” she sings.

Later, Jhené dismisses the material items, and only hopes to keep the love close. “Will you be there in the morning / Do you stay when it all goes, or will I wake up alone?” she asks.

Memories…Do Not Open is out now featuring additional appearances from Florida Georgia Line, Emily Warren, and Louane.  Jhené is currently working on her follow-up album to 2014’s Souled Out, as well as a second TWENTY88 project with Big Sean.
