Today, 19-year-old singer/songwriter, Khalid, has released his anticipated debut album American Teen via Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records.
The 15-track album has been led by the breakout hit single “Location,” and additional early releases “Let’s Go,” “Hopeless,” “Coaster,” “Saved,” and “Shot Down.”
Born into a military family, Khalid spent most of his childhood in Germany, before moving to Watertown, NY for high school. The summer going into his senior year, Khalid’s family was ordered to relocate to El Paso, TX. By 18-years-old, Khalid, who is classically vocal trained, had drawn on his experiences with moving often and the unique experience of growing up in two continents, and parlayed them into the creation of “Location,” which he independently released before his high school graduation and became a viral smash.
Khalid just recently wrapped up his first headlining tour in both the U.S. and select European cities where he sold-out every single show. To compliment the albums release, Khalid has also unveiled a music video for the title and opening song “American Teen.”
