The legendary Smokey Robinson was honored at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  Following a heartfelt video with testimonials from Berry Gordy, Aretha Franklin, Janelle Monáe, and John Legend, it was time for some musical tributes.

Hitting the stage for her first performance at the BET Awards, buzzing singer Tori Kelly showcased her powerful pipes with “Who’s Loving You,” which Smokey penned and was most famously covered by Jackson 5. Following Tori, Robin Thicke made a return to the stage with a rousing rendition of “Ooo Baby Baby” by Smokey and The Miracles. Turning up the energy a bit Ne-Yo slid onto the stage with the always feel-good “The Tears of a Clown,” also by Smokey and The Miracles.

Following the tribute, Smokey took the stage himself giving a moving speech and delivered a performance of his own as the audience clapped and sang along to “The Tracks of My Tears,” “Cruisin,” and “My Girl,” which brought Ne-Yo, Robin and Tori back to join him.
