Cheryl Lynn is a famed disco, R&B, and soul singer who has also sold millions of records thanks to classic hits like her debut song “Got To Be Real.”
Released as the first single from her 1978 self-titled album, the song was penned by David Paich, David Foster, and Lynn, and has since been called one of the defining moments in R&B and Disco. The song peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the R&B chart. On September 19, 2005, “Got To Be Real” was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
