Following the racial remarks that surfaced by ex-Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, The-Dream took it upon himself to send a strong message with the socially conscious new song “Black.”
Inspired by the need to continue fighting for equality in all aspects of our world, the hitmaker has now released the official music video for the powerful song. Traveling to South Africa to film the visual, Dream is seen amongst crowds of various protestors in the slums as they stand up for their rights and fight for their cause.
He sings about his personal experience with racism and desire to help uplift anyone that feels oppressed.
The visual closes with the message, “Black isn’t just a color, black isn’t just a race anymore. It’s a feeling and a place from which one feels isolated by the world of the governing elite.”
