Throwback Thursday: Nicole Wray feat. Missy Elliott & Mocha – ‘Make It Hot’

Nicole Wray is a R&B singer and songwriter most notable as a protege of Missy Elliott in the late ’90s. “Make It Hot” was the first single released from her 1998 debut album of the same name. The single was written and produced by Missy Elliott & Timbaland. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.

The music video takes place in a movie theater, it starts with Missy’s voice coming in first, then leads into Mocha’s rap. Later, in another room, Nicole and her dancers are shown dancing to the music while Nicole is singing. It features cameo appearances by Aaliyah, Playa, Ginuwine, Timbaland and Magoo.
