That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!

While her latest cover issue of Vogue hit the net last week, Rihanna has hit our radars once again with more news. This time though, it was a little unexpected.

Catch more after the jump!

Dabbling in film previously with her starring role in 2012’s Battleship, the gorgeous songstress is now taking her talents to the animated portion of the industry. Casted as one of the leading characters to the upcoming animated film Home, Rihanna has much to brag about in 2014. Working alongside Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez and The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons, the Rihanna Navy can “Take a Bow” for their captain.

Chief of Animation at DreamWorks, Jeffrey Katzenberg, announced on Tuesday during the company’s earnings conference that the star will also be creating a concept album based on the movie. Home, which was formerly known as Happy Smekday, is based on the Adam Rex novel The True Meaning of Smekday.

Directed by Tim Johnson, the film is about friendly aliens who touch down on Earth in hopes to escape their enemy. Accidentally revealing their whereabouts, one of the aliens must then flee with a teenage girl, which sends them on an exciting road trip across post-apocalyptic America. During their adventure, the alien is exposed to the true meaning of what it is to be human.

The film will also feature new music from the Barbadian star.

Additionally in the process of readying her 8th studio album, there’s much that we can expect from the powerhouse business woman during the next 12 months. While Home won’t hit theaters until November 26, fans can catch RiRi on tour with Eminem in August on their tri-city stadium tour in New York, Los Angeles and Detroit.

Will you be taking your little ones to catch the animated version of Rihanna on the big screen?
