Following the OVO Fest this past weekend, Drake spoke to Much Music about the event’s success and more importantly working on the new, posthumous Aaliyah album. Drizzy confirmed that it will be produced by him alongside 40 and they will try to get everyone involved who was essential to her career.
“It’s not about me, it’s not about 40, its really about her, and her fans, and us just given an opportunity to give you something that we feel is great,” explained Drizzy. “Ya know the people around her, everybody from her family to her old management and label were just like, if there’s anybody out there that can do it right now it’s me and 40, and that was an honor! We are gonna pull in some classic people, like anybody that used to work with Aaliyah or that was essential to her career we definitely hope to have them involved.”
