Elle Varner Celebrates Black Music Month With Michael Jackson

By

Elle Varner is celebrating Black Music Month in June by praising the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The Los Angeles native, who currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y., sat down with The BoomBox to express her sentiments about why the legendary entertainer was “fearless” in his artistry.

“He blurred that line of ‘What is black music?'” Varner states. “He truly represents the concept of being an artist and not just a singer.”

Varner, whose own soulful vocals can be heard on her forthcoming RCA Records debut album, Perfectly Imperfect, also shares how Jackson inspires her to “go against the grain” and the song of his she fancies most.
