Chris Brown Hosts F.A.M.E. & Fortune Listening Session

By

Last night Chris Brown held his first listening session for his much anticipated new album F.A.M.E & Fortune at LA’s Record Plant Studios. In attendance were his manager Tina Davis, new American Idol music director Ray Chew, industry execs and select media. Billboard was invited and they shared some details about what took place.

Chris spent about 90 minutes playing full songs, as well as other tracks that were still in the works. Some of those songs included his urban cut “Look at Me Now”, and official new pop single “Beautiful People”. Billboard also stated that the final track list is not yet complete, which is why his label, Jive Records, and his management are not permitting them to reveal any songs titles at the moment.

They did however talk about the album’s musical direction. Saying, “He draws from his R&B roots, but also doing a lot of fusion with house and dub. Also of course hip-hop and dance, and raps and throws in tribal beats on one cut.” Breezy then ended the informal listening session by saying it’s “been a journey for me. Appreciate you all coming. I’m just doing my own thing musically”. They also confirmed that the new LP will be released this Spring, so we’re thinking around April/May.

This is pretty exciting news. What do you think Chris has in store for us?
