New Music: TLC – Haters

It’s still a little hard to believe that TLC have really returned with new music, but their much-anticipated final album is on the way.

With the set due out June 30, T-Boz and Chilli follow up their first single “Way Back” featuring Snoop Dogg, with an official release of the confidence building track, “Haters.”

Over the pop track they address social media and bullying. “Haters gonna hate / People gon’ say what they say / But we don’t care about that anyway,” they sing on the empowering chorus.

Last November, TLC actually teased the new album with a Japanese only release of “Haters” and “Joyride,” to gauge how those fans would react to them.

The group’s self-titled new album, which was funded by fans through Kickstarter, boasts 12 tracks including titles like “Perfect Girls,” “American Gold,” and “Aye Muthafucka.”  At this time the only guest appearance comes from Uncle Snoop on the first single, “Way Back.”

This summer, T-Boz and Chilli are set to kick off the “I Love the ’90s – The Party Continues Tour” with Sugar Ray, Naughty By Nature, C+C Music Factory, and more starting in July.

Stream “Haters” and see the album tracklisting below.

TLC Talk Upcoming Album, New Single & Chilli’s Michael Jackson Story on Big Boy’s Neighborhood

Timing is everything, and the right time has come for TLC to make their comeback.

Last week, T-Boz and Chilli released their new single “Way Back” featuring Snoop Dogg, the first taste of their much-anticipated fan-funded album. While promoting the song in Los Angeles the ladies stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3 to talk about the single, forthcoming album, the love they have for their fans, and T-Boz shared the funniest Chilli and Michael Jackson story.

When sharing some of the troubles they encountered with the recording process of the album, they explained much of the delay was caused because of dealing with the crazy schedules of multiple songwriters and producers.

TLC have asked fans to help them name the album, which they haven’t decided on yet, but the project is still due out on June 30.

TLC Announces June Release for Kickstarter Funded Album

It has been 25 years since the release of their debut album and TLC are plotting the much-anticipated release of their new album.

TLC surprised fans everywhere in 2015 when they launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money to create their “final” album, and then they were shocked when fans responded by donating more than $430,000. It has been 2 years and now the group says the album is on its way!

On Monday (Feb. 27), TLC’s longtime manager Bill Diggins announced that the album will be released “at the end of June” and that its 4,201 backers will receive an advance copy.

“On behalf of TLC and myself I want to express our most sincere thanks for your patience on waiting for the album,” wrote Diggins. “I am thrilled to let you know that the album is tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of June and you will receive your advance album prior to that. We are working out the official date in the next couple of weeks and once it is final we will notify you.

This album could not have happened without your support and your confidence in TLC has inspired us greatly to make the best album possible,” he added. “We would have loved to have delivered this album sooner to you but we are confident that you will agree that it was worth the wait when you hear it. Valentine’s Day is here so that means nothing but fine wines and good vibes for all the lovers in the world. Though recent years delivered a set of R&B songs that fit the mood of today, nothing quite beats the sound of ’90s R&B and the feelings that came along with those songs. Without any debate, ’90s R&B was the essence of love and we couldn’t picture a successful Valentine’s Day without a ‘90s R&B playlist serving as the soundtrack.

With that in mind, we decided that it would be fitting to take you back to that place of love and happiness and show you what Valentine’s Day would’ve been like had you been in celebration mode 20 years ago. Though most of the R&B hits from ’97 didn’t erupt on the scene until after February of that year, the tracks released from 1995 leading up to 1997’s date of love made for an unforgettable playlist that was sure to make anyone D.T.D. (Drop them draws, dawg!).

Don’t believe us? Check out these 22 R&B songs that turned Valentine’s Day out in 1997 below.
