Exclusive: Buzzing Producer Keyz Talks Working on Beyoncé’s “I Been On” Single

This past Sunday, Beyoncé surprised the world when she released the boastful, hip-hop inspired, new mash-up single, “Bow Down / I Been On.” The internet and industry went into a frenzy after hearing Bey’s new-found rawness and braggadocio statements on the two cuts, which were crafted by a group of multiple producers.

The first half of the record “Bow Down” was created solely by Hit-Boy. While, the Houston inspired chopped-and-screwed second half “I Been On,” was a collaboration between Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Sonny Digital, Planet IV (aka Rock City) and newcomer Keyz. We recently spoke with the burgeoning young producer to get some inside scoop on how the record came about, and how he landed the placement.

New Music: Justin Timberlake feat. Timbaland – “Dress On” (Target Bonus Track)

Justin Timberlake took this week over by storm, releasing an early full-album stream of his comeback LP, The 20/20 Experience, and TV promo with a week-long residency on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.’ The first album in over six years from Timberlake has been receiving very stellar reviews, and according to early reports the set is expected to shift around 500k units in it’s opening week, when it officially lands in stores on March 19.

Working exclusively with Timbaland once again on the production, the Target Deluxe Version of the album includes two more bonus tracks, which were done by JT and his production crew The Y’s, consisting of songwriter James Fauntleroy and Rob Knox.

By now you most likely heard the album, and maybe even have an advance copy on your ipod, so before you go out and actually support the album, take a listen to one of the new bonus tracks from the deluxe version, “Dress On,” which actually features a verse from Timbaland, over a hard-hitting production, layered with a deep, whining synth. New Music: Justin Timberlake – ‘The 20/20 Experience’ (Full Album Stream)

It seemed to happen so fast, but Justin Timberlake‘s return to music has officially arrived! The Pop stars first album in over six years, The 20/20 Experience, is now available to stream in its entirety on iTunes. The stream will remain available until the album’s release on March 19.

JT reunites with Timbaland on the 10 tracks, which includes a mix of Middle Eastern beats (“Don’t Hold the Wall”), futuristic pop (“Spaceship Coupe”), Latin flavors (“Let the Groove In”), and of course the Jay-Z-assisted single “Suit & Tie.”

Justin will be performing songs off the album all week long on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and touring arenas with Jay-Z this summer.

New Music: Justin Timberlake – “Mirrors”

Moments after his return to the Grammy stage with a showstopping performance, Justin Timberlake released the new song, “Mirrors,” produced by Timbaland, to iTunes. The over eight minute long tune is reminiscent of their past work and such ballads as “Cry Me A River.”

Following his live Grammy performance a TV commercial revealed a deluxe edition of JT’s upcoming album The 20/20 Experience will be available exclusively at Target on March 19, and it will include two additional tracks, “Dress On” and “Body Count.”

Timbaland Is Down with The R.O.C., Signs To Roc Nation

Timbaland is down with the R.O.C.. The super-producer has signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation for management. The new deal was just announced via Jay-Z’s Life + Times website.

“Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family,” reads a message. Timbaland has created some of Hov’s best records, but is a legend in not just Hip-Hop, but R&B and Pop as well. Along with his own next album, the Virginia bred producer is prepping for the much-anticipated return of Justin Timberlake with his 20/20 Experience album, as well as Keri Hilson’s upcoming third album.

Roc Nation represents some of the best and brightest stars in music including Rihanna, Shakira, Rita Ora, J. Cole, Melanie Fiona, Bridget Kelly, Solange Knowles and more.


Keri Hilson Says Justin Timberlake & Timbaland Can Redefine The Sound of Radio with New Music

During their chat at the Gillette ‘Kiss & Tell’ event, Rap-Up TV asked Keri Hilson about Justin Timberlake’s return to music. The R&B chanteuse was very enthusiastic about what she has heard and the studio chatter. With JT’s comeback single “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z, already heating up the charts, and his first album in six years, The 20/20 Experience, coming March 19, fans everywhere are very curious what the hitmakers have in store. Keri shared that in her opinion when Justin and Timbaland get together in the right modes, they can change or redefine the sound of music on the radio.

“They both are capable of redefining the sound of radio, and I believe, based upon what I’ve heard, they’re gonna do that again,” she told Rap-Up TV. “So I’m proud of them and I’m excited for what’s about to happen.”

Timbaland has been working with Keri on her third album as well. “I’m all about blending the worlds of pop and hip-hop and R&B all in a pot,” said Keri of the follow-up to 2010’s No Boys Allowed.
