New Music: Sevyn Streeter feat. B.o.B – Shoulda Been There

Sevyn Shoulda Been There

Sevyn Streeter is back!  While she may have pushed her anticipated debut album On The Verge back a little longer, the R&B vixen isn’t leaving her fans out to dry.  Revealing her plans to release a brand new EP while at ESSENCE Music Festival earlier this month, today the Floridian releases the title track “Shoulda Been There” featuring her boo thang, B.o.B.

“The last year and a half has been quite the roller coaster for me. Incredible highs and some dark lows. I wrote these songs when I wasn’t in the best space,” said Sevyn. “Like I ALWAYS say, ‘I don’t write the songs just for me.’ I believe this collection of music can help someone else. So instead of me pretending, denying, and being embarrassed about what I went through, I’m choosing to put these songs out. As a creative being, I just had to release this music before my debut album in order to really move on with my life! So……consider this new project Shoulda Been There Pt. 1 the prelude or an appetizer before the main course. I hope you enjoy and please know that more is on the way.”

Shoulda Been There (Part 1: The Prelude)‘ will be released on July 17. Check out the official lyric video for the title track, and full tracklisting below!

Video: Sevyn Streeter – ‘How Bad Do You Want It’

Sevyn-Streeter-How-Bad-Video

Sevyn Streeter saw a dream come true with her contribution to the soundtrack to Furious 7, which has been smashing box offices worldwide since it’s theatrical release last month. Now, the R&B songstress returns with the high octane music video to her EDM song “How Bad Do You Want It.”

Looking like a goddess in a white-and-gold gown, Sevyn escapes to Abu Dhabi in the exotic visual, which is interspersed with scenes from the blockbuster film. She gets behind the wheel of a foreign sports car and guides a camel through the desert.

“Having a song that I wrote and performed in this movie and on the soundtrack is truly a highlight and milestone in my career thus far,” said Sevyn. “I told you guys this year I wasn’t putting myself in a box. This opportunity allowed me to depart from some of the sounds on my album, but still shows a side of me!”

Her debut album On the Verge is due later this year featuring the Chris Brown-assisted hit “Don’t Kill the Fun.”

Watch: Sevyn Streeter Premieres New Song/Video “4th Street”

Sevyn-4th-Street

Sevyn Streeter recently returned home to Haines City, Florida and was awarded the key to the city. Now, as the second release off her forthcoming debut album, On The Verge, the R&B singer/songwriter visualizes her return to where she grew up in the video premiere of “4th Street.”

Reuniting with family and friends in the feel-good video, Sevyn looks through old photos in her childhood bedroom with her mother and visits the local corner store before hitting up a block party. She even pulls out the dress she wore as a child on “Apollo Kids.”

“Out of all the songs on my album it’s the one closest to my heart!” said Sevyn. “Everyone has at least one person in their life that doesn’t want anything from you, they just wanna make sure you good! They’re the ones who make all the assholes we encounter irrelevant! #4thStreet is the street I was raised on, the people in the video are the ones who grew up there with me & the ones I name at the end of the song are the angels who had a hand in molding my life! #4thStreet people are just ‘good ass people!’”

Sevyn’s debut album On the Verge is due this year featuring the Chris Brown-assisted single “Don’t Kill the fun,” “Fallen” with Ty Dolla $ign, and a duet with August Alsina called “Been a Minute.”
