New Music: R.LUM.R – Close Enough

R.LUM.R

Breaking out with his 2016 viral sensation “Frustrated,” rising artist R.LUM.R (pronounced AR-lamar) returns today with his latest track, “Close Enough.”

The buzzing singer/songwriter continues to genre bend on the infectious pop/R&B jam. Featuring big, explosive production the song follows R.LUM.R’s inner battle of being enamored with someone who might not be right for him.

“I wanna let you go but keep you close / I wanna quit you cold but overdose / I wanna mute you loud in stereo / I need this distance to be close enough,” he sings.

Speaking about the song to Billboard, R.LUM.R said: “Sometimes we want something to work so badly that we’re willing to go looking for any one ray of light that’ll hopefully dispel the overwhelming shadows in a relationship. You get to the point where you try to focus so much on that light, that it blinds you, and you disregard all the darkness around you that’s doing the same. It’s about someone realizing that denial, and is trying their best to work through that cognitive dissonance, between what they feel and what they think needs to happen.”

Fans can catch R.LUM.R performing “Frustrated” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on August 2. His debut EP, AFTERIMAGE is due out August 11. “Frustrated,” “Loveless” and “Close Enough” are all available as instant downloads if you pre-order the EP HERE.

Video: R.LUM.R – Frustrated

After breaking out in 2016 with his popular falsetto led ballad “Frustrated,” buzzing artist R.LUM.R has unveiled the song’s official music video.

The Nashville based singer/songwriter, who’s real name is Reggie Williams, recently surpassed 12 million streams of the infectious single on Spotify, and lately he’s been impressing audiences with his raw live talent, including many praised performances during SXSW last month.

In the visual, Williams is seen entering a home where a mixed couple are dealing with relationship woes, with looks of worry and confusion over their future. The crooner performs the soul-stirring song as they work out their frustrations in different rooms. At times, the man and R.LUM.R trade places, as they are one in the same, possibly revisiting one of his past relationships.

The breakout artist will be doing a residency at the Masquerade in Atlanta every Tuesday this month starting tonight (Apr. 4). He’s also playing the Mercy Lounge in Nashville on April 13. Check his website for a list of dates, and watch the “Frustrated” video below.

New Music: R.LUM.R – Frustrated

R.LUM.R Frustrated

Emerging artist R.LUM.R is “Frustrated” on his latest single, but his pain is our pleasure.

The Nashville native is surely soon to be on everyone’s radar, and we hope there is much more where this intoxicating gem came from. A taste of Future Soul if we had to simplify it, but the track is deep in ups, and downs, lights, and darks. Synths carry weight into a punching beat, and then a roller coaster ensues, which the singer-songwriter glides across with an outstanding falsetto.

“I’m not alright right now / I’m having trouble seeing you for what you do / I’m not alright, worn down from make believing that you love me too,” he passionately sings on the pre-chorus. R.LUM.R has clearly gone through some sh*t, but like we all have, and we have a feeling his feelings will bring out some of your own.
