Listen: Pretty Ricky Return With New Single “Good Girlz”

Pretty Ricky Good Girlz

Welcome back Pretty Ricky!!

The long-awaited comeback from the Florida boys is officially here with their brand new single, “Good Girlz.” Produced by Bigg D & Lamb, the sexy record follows right up where they left off with 2015’s buzz song “Puddles.”

Using an interpolation of the popular ’90s hit “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree, the fellas deliver a sleek combination of rap and sung verses about the special type of woman they are looking for.

“I don’t want no good girl / She gotta be bad / I’m looking for the kinda girl that make the other girls mad,” they sing on the chorus. “I don’t want no nice chick / If she is, she better be bad.”

Earlier this year, the R&B group–consisting of Baby Blue, Spectacular, Slick’Em and Pleasure P — reunited on stage at the SOULQUARIUS Festival. ThisisRnB was in the building and the fellas completely shut it down, even with a shortened set due to time constraints.

Last fall, Pretty Ricky officially announced their reunion and plans for a new album. They have been working with Grammy-winning artist/producer Rico Love on the project, which will be their fifth studio album, following 2009’s self-titled LP, Pretty Ricky.

Take a listen to their hot new single “Good Girlz” below.

Pretty Ricky Breakfast Club

Pretty Ricky is ready to officially make their comeback!  The R&B group–consisting of Baby Blue, Spectacular, Slick’Em, and Pleasure P — paid a visit to “The Breakfast Club” for a new interview.

In addition to discussing their new music and forthcoming album, the Florida natives talked about how and why they re-formed the group, the first song they ever wrote, going on tour, “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” rumors, and how they responded when Pleasure P left the group.

Speaking about their decision to reunite now, Pleasure explained: “I don’t think it’s about this era to be honest. I think it’s just about our fans and the people that love us. We sold out a lot of shows recently. We just put it up and within a week or two they were sold out. We playin the same venues that any artists that are out right now, playing and selling it out.”

Additionally, they addressed more rumors over the years including Baby Blue’s sexual allegations, Slick’Em’s sex tape and STD rumors, Pleasure P’s false child molestation allegations, and Spectacular’s viral underwear tape. Watch Pretty Ricky’s Full “SOULQUARIUS” Performance

The reunion of Pretty Ricky on stage was a huge standout moment of the inaugural SOULQUARIUS Festival, which took place on Feb. 18 in Santa Ana, CA.  The original group announced that they were getting back together to record a new album in 2016, but this was the first moment fans were able to see them back doing their thing, and the audience went buck wild.

Packing out the indoor Observatory Stage, fans acted like it was 2005 all over again, and the Florida boys were ruling it with hits like “Your Body” and “Grind With Me.” The special moment can now be seen from more than social media posts, as Baby Blue, Spectacular, Pleasure P and Slick’em have released a mini documentary style video capturing the moments leading up to their performance, including rehearsal, and a lot of footage from their set.

If this is any indication of how Pretty Ricky plan to come back, their fans across the world are in for some really special moments this year.

Check out the full video below, and look out for ThisisRnB’s own Ni’Kesia Pannell getting some up close attention from Pleasure P around the 10 minute mark.

‘SOULQUARIUS’ Brings R&B Greats, Past & Present, to West Coast Fans!

When the flyer for the inaugural SOULQUARIUS Festival in Santa Ana, California dropped in late 2016, R&B lovers everywhere went crazy over the line-up of scheduled performers.  From throwback artists like Jon B. and DMX to current R&B tastemakers such as Ro James, Jhené Aiko, and BJ The Chicago Kid, there was no denying that this event was guaranteed to be a lituation.

Fear of getting rained out and continuous flooding from California’s big storm may have had most on edge but, that didn’t stop ticket holders from coming out in droves to get a taste of what their favorite performers have to offer. Of course, there were a few mishaps along the way (like any huge festival has during their opening year), but SOULQUARIUS — aside from its massive lineup — has plenty of reasons why it should be the R&B festival that you don’t want to miss from here on out.

Delivering a jammed packed mash-up of lovable R&B artists and a few of rap’s most influential, SOULQUARIUS made sure to leave festival enthusiasts with a need to get their coins up for next year.

Listen: Pleasure P Reunites with Pretty Ricky on New Single “Puddles”

pretty-ricky-puddles

Talk about a blast from the past! With the 10 year anniversary of their debut album Bluestars right around the corner, the original members of Miami-based group Pretty Ricky have reunited to deliver a brand new single for the ladies.

Originally comprised of rappers Baby Blue, Spectacular, and Slickem, along with R&B crooner Pleasure P, the group – which produced the hits “Grind On Me,” “Your Body,” “Hotline,” and more – replaced Pleasure P in 2007 when he left to embark on his solo career. While the remaining members kept the show going without Pleasure P and dropped their third album, Pretty Ricky, things just haven’t been the same.

Now, 10 years later, the original boys are back! Set to release the sequel to 2005’s Bluestars, which is aptly titled Bluestars 2,  the quartet is delivering the lead single titled “Puddles.” Reminiscent of a love making ’90s R&B hit, the new single flashes us back to the debut of the group and their best album – arguably – to date.

Take a listen as the fellas take it over below:
