Earlier this week, PJ Morton unveiled the cover for his debut album, now he premieres the second single “Work It Out.” The singer/songwriter/musician will release his anticipated LP, New Orleans, on May 14, via YMCMB.

Following the release of the music video for his single “Only You,” PJ Morton unveils the cover to his debut album, New Orleans. The singer-songwriter/musicians anticipated LP is scheduled to hit stores on May 14, via YMCMB.
PJ has also shared a preview of the album version of “Never Get Over You,” a track which originally appeared on his Following My First Mind EP. Love is in the air as the singer/musician suits up in a tux and hits all the right notes in the performance-heavy clip, directed by Jeffrey Elmont. PJ ties the knot with the one and only love of his life, as friends and family dance and party the night away.
“Only One,” which features Stevie Wonder on harmonica, is the lead single off Morton’s debut album, New Orleans, due out May 14 via YMCMB.

Almost halfway through March, and it’s already been a good year for R&B. The skeptics are still floating around, but things are certainly looking up when artists like Emeli Sandé are getting played on Z100, and Miguel is taking home Grammys. Last year, we saw a ton of releases on both the album and mixtape side, and while there hasn’t been much on that front just yet, there are certainly some big releases on the way from the likes of Beyoncé, Maxwell, Chris Brown and many more.
With a good amount of new tracks already floating around our playlists and ipods, we decided to take a more serious look at the music and give you an official list of our Top 10 Best R&B Songs of The Year, so far…

PJ Morton made a big splash when he dropped his brand new single “Only One,” featuring Stevie Wonder a few weeks ago. In this new clip the singer/musician talks about the making of song, which is the lead track of his upcoming album New Orleans, due out May 14. The emerging singer/songwriter/musician impressed us last year with his debut EP, ‘Following My First Mind.’ With his first release of the new year he does more than that, taking it to another level! PJ lands an unbelievably rare feature from the legendary Stevie Wonder on his new song “Only One.” Over heavy drums, the New Orleans native belts out his devotion to his sweetheart. Stevie assists on the harmonica, taking the song to another place musically, amazing.
“Stevie is my biggest influence,” he told Billboard of the collaboration. “Out of anybody, Stevie’s really the one that I studied the most growing up in music, so we literally tried everything to get him on the song. Someone who’s been working with him for years, a fan of my music, just really singlehandedly got him into the studio, recorded the song, and emailed it to me,” he said. “It’s really a bucket list dream for me. It’s a dream come true.” PJ is prepping the release of his debut album, “New Orleans,” due May 14 via Young Money.

This year was certainly filled with plenty of R&B. It was one of the biggest release years for the amount of albums that came out, and with the trend of mixtapes still at an all-time high, it seemed like there was always a new project to listen to, or discover. The crop of emerging talent has been impressive, and with the R&B genre progressing and expanding into new styles, it’s an exciting time for what’s next and what’s new. Following last year, we felt it’s just not enough doing an albums list, when there are so many mixtape and EP releases, and there were lots!
