New Music: Glenn Lewis feat. Melanie Fiona – All My Love

Glenn Lewis has finally made his official return with the sweet love ballad “Can’t Say Love,” off his forthcoming album Moment of Truth, due out this summer.  The Canadian crooner is looking to rekindle the attention of R&B fans across the globe with the Corey Latif Williams written cut, which is going for radio adds now, and has a Juwan Lee-directed video on the way.

In addition to the soulful single, Glenn has collaborated with his fellow Canadian singer, the beautiful and talented Melanie Fiona. Over an island inspired funky track, produced by Dre & Vidal, the two crooners plead their desires to be the special someone in each others lives on the sweet duet, “All My Love.”

Lewis’ forthcoming sophomore album Moment of Truth is due out this summer via Ruffhouse/EMI/Capitol. Hear the new duet below:

Melanie Fiona Performs Rare Acoustic Set at SOB’s

Melanie Fiona radiated the walls of SOB’s on Wednesday night with a rare acoustic performance. The Canadian songstress, who is now a residence of NYC, wanted to put on a special show and picked the venue where she had her first ever sold-out show (4 years ago), and of course she sold it out again.

On May 1st the New York City spring concert season got off to a proper start thanks to Melanie Fiona. The two time Grammy award winner packed the historic Sounds of Brazil to capacity and treated fans who live the “MFLife” to a rare acoustic performance followed by a 30 minute mostly acapella encore. After running through her catalogue of hits and fulfilling request from the crowd. Melanie sat down with us to recap her set and update us on the new music she has been working on.

Once again Mel creates her own track with her own vocal sounds and effects, prior to singing her cover of the single into her computers camera.

Melanie Fiona Attends ’42′ Film Event, Honoring Jackie Robinson

Melanie Fiona was country chic Monday night, as she attended a special event for the upcoming film ’42,’ honoring Jackie Robinson. The Canadian songstress mixed and mashed her look with a vintage country style hat, buttoned up black shirt, stone washed jeans and some unique gold jewelery.

The event, which was held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, kicked off promo for the upcoming movie about the legendary baseball player, and breaking the color barrier in the sport. Mel is currently working on her third album, which she described earlier this year as very organic, “I think the approach this time is a very organic place,” explained Mel. “I feel like I want to write all my songs on piano and guitar, and build it into whatever it’s gonna be. I’m much more in a singer-songwriter place right now.”

Melanie Fiona Sings Remake of Drake’s “Started From The Bottom”

Melanie Fiona shows some love to her old friend and fellow Toronto native, Drake, by remixing and creating her own version of his new hit single “Started From The Bottom.” During some down-time the Canadian songstress creates her own beat, just using her own vocals and hand claps. Wearing a Toronto hat, Mel videotapes herself in-front of the laptop while belting out her unique version of the inspirational track.

Melanie Fiona, Luke James, Bridget Kelly & Ro James Party & Perform at The Legendary Damon’s Birthday Bash

This past weekend, the Legendary Damon amazed attendees of his annual birthday ball with a lavish 80′s themed party at Good Units in NYC. New York tastemakers and celebrities came out to celebrate not only one of the city’s most well respected nightlife promoters, but the thrill of a great party.

Notable attendees included singers Melanie Fiona, Luke James, Bridget Kelly, and Ro James.

Anticipation throughout the night ran rampant as guests eagerly awaited Damon’s arrival. Over the last couple of years, Damon’s entrance has increasingly garnered more attention as each entrance has continued to surpass the last in its grandiose nature. Last year, Damon came into the club on a white horse, leaving everyone guessing as to what could possibly top that this year. Damon did not disappoint. With the a local choir performing Madonna’s “Like A Prayer,” along side 2x Grammy winner Melanie Fiona, Damon descended from the rafters of the building into the crowd.

After the initial reveal, the partying went long into the night with the help of the events’ sponsors, Redbull and Hennessy and with special guest performers. Luke James graced guests with a special performance of his Grammy nominated single, “I Want You”. The crowd was further treated to Bridget Kelly performing a phenomenal rendition of “Happy Birthday,” while models passed out cupcakes provided by Baked by Melissa.

New Music: Michael Bolton Duets with Kelly Rowland and Melanie Fiona on Motown Classics

Kelly Rowland is prepping for her anticipated new album, but in the meantime she is paying homage to an old school classic. The R&B chanteuse duets with Michael Bolton on a cover of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s 1960s hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” which appears on Bolton’s new Motown tribute album Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: Tribute Hitsville. The covers project also includes his duet with Melanie Fiona on “Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing,” which you might have seen them perform together on the Today Show or The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Melanie Fiona Sings Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time”

This past Monday marked a year since the death of the late and great Whitney Houston. Grammy-award winning songstress Melanie Fiona, who has said countless times how impactful Whitney was as a singer to her, covered the legends hit song “One Moment In Time” for Billboard’s tribute series.

“I feel like it is one of the greatest songs that she has and that has kind of ever been written,” said Melanie. “It’s almost like the forgotten gem of her catalog. …And I feel like this record is just so powerful and has such a positive message. I think that people need to hear that and be reminded of that.”
