New Music: Ty Dolla $ign feat. Lil Wayne & The-Dream – Love U Better

As promised, Ty Dolla $ign unleashes the first single off his forthcoming Beach House 3 album.

Teaming up with Lil Wayne and The-Dream for the catchy “Love U Better,” the trio get in love mode. The DJ Mustard and Twice as Nice-produced track borrows from Mary J. Blige’s classic song “I Can Love You” off her 1997 album Share My World.

Dream kicks off the song singing: “Girl, you should know that I can love you better than he can.” And Ty tells us how he will drop game on your girl.

“Pull up on your girl with my roof gone / I’ma pull up on your girl with my jewels on,” sings Ty$. “Pull up on your girl with that heat on / And she ain’t know if it’s a Dolla or a Dream song.”

Lil Wayne comes in midway with an auto-tune laced verse. “Pull up on her in an Uber,” he raps. “That’s how I maneuver / Turn this D into a D plus and I’m her tutor / Turn a B into a D cup, hallelujah!”

Beach House 3 will be Ty’s sophomore album, but it will actually be the fourth release in his ‘Beach House‘ series. The first two projects in the series — 2012’s Beach House and 2013’s Beach House 2 — dropped as mixtapes. The third, Beach House EP, dropped in 2014. In 2015, the singer/songwriter released his debut album Free TC on Atlantic Records.

New Music: Khalid feat. Kehlani & Lil Wayne – Location (Remix)

After teasing fans with a short preview earlier in the week, buzzing young artist Khalid debuts the anticipated remix to his breakout hit “Location.”

Teaming up with Lil Wayne and Kehlani, the new version takes the location of lovin’ to new heights.

Over the slinky production, Tunechi kicks off the remix with some provocative lines: “I’ll turn your dry spot into an oasis / I’ll kiss the right spots, I know all the places,” raps Weezy.

After Khalid’s original verse, Kehlani joins in with some revelations about a relationship in the public eye. “They can choose to watch, but I’d rather they just listen / Could fill up an album with everything that they’re missin’ / They so superficial, don’t understand how we’re chillin’ / We don’t need a lot, we got us, and that’s why we’re winnin’,” she sings.

Earlier this week, Khalid’s debut album American Teen landed in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, he performed on “The Tonight Show,” and just won MTV’s Woodie to Watch award.

Stream Lloyd’s ‘Tru’ EP

After a five-year hiatus Lloyd has returned with his anticipated EP, Tru.  The R&B crooner may have experienced a lot of special life moments during his time away from music, but he picks up right where he left off with the stellar 5-track project, named after the introspective title track.

Beyond the single and its remix featuring 2 Chainz, the EP is comprised of the tracks “Heavenly Body” featuring Rick Ross, “Holding” featuring Lil Wayne and “Excited.”

“I’ve never attacked the content of my life like this,” Lloyd told Billboard. “The EP and album were inspired by all kinds of biographical storylines of the past few years. And the bottom line message is that there’s nothing wrong with being who you are. I really enjoy the fact that no one is perfect or imperfect. That’s the message I’m sharing.”

Stunning fans with the bold cover image, which features Lloyd sitting completely nude on a rock waterfall in the woods of north Georgia, the photo is symbolic of his inspiration for the music. “It was really more of an introspective thing,” he told Complex. “Although what you see on the outside is a guy who is apparently balls-to-the-wall naked in the woods near a waterfall, it’s really a moment for me to conquer all the fears that I might have had. All the inhibitions, the insecurities that usually exist in a person; to me it’s no exception. Insecurities of the body, being free in a public place.”

This was particularly important for Lloyd because he says the album is meant to showcase that bare naked honesty. “People try to hide their flaws,” he says, “but I think the flaws make them a beautiful person. And that’s what Tru is all about.”

Next year, Lloyd is planning to release his first full-length album since 2011’s King of Hearts, the project will be titled Out My Window.

While Wayne dedicates some bars to his own Bonnie, “Real bitch forever / I’m the only one she down for / Most of these hoes bloodhounds / She don’t even hound blood,” raps Weezy.
