Cee-Lo Green Performs “Only You” on The Ellen Show

Cee-Lo Green paid a visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday to perform his new single “Only You.” The Pop star was joined by newcomer Lauriana Mae for the Skylar Grey-penned duet.

Cee-Lo toned out his often outrageous image, choosing to wear a Ralph Lauren rugby shirt, while Lauriana went glamorous in a black lace gown. The lady killer’s new solo album is coming this fall, but in the meantime longtime fans can expect the new Goodie Mob album, Age Against the Machine, on June 18.

Cee-Lo Green‘s words got him in trouble, and now his world is coming undone in the brand new video for “Only You,” featuring newcomer Lauriana Mae. The pop heavy duet is the lead single off his forthcoming fourth album Everybody’s Brother, which is due out later this year.

The special effects based video finds the two singers telling the tale of torn lovers, as they walk through a city that warps and falls apart around them.

“It’s about two people on different paths, hoping for the best, hoping that those paths lead to each other,” Cee-Lo told Rolling Stone of the Skylar Grey-penned song. “It’s like love lost or the acknowledgment of a love lost, but it’s still optimistic.”

Cee-Lo Green is planning for a big year. The soulful hitmaker is prepping for his new Las Vegas residency “Loberace,” and at the same time he is working on his next album. Today, we get to hear the first taste of what’s to come, with “Only You.” The ex-Voice judge recruits up and coming Atlantic Records singer Lauriana Mae for the groovy, retro inspired duet.

“It’s about two people on different paths, hoping for the best, hoping that those paths lead to each other,” Green tells RollingStone. “It’s like love lost or the acknowledgment of a love lost, but it’s still optimistic.”

Atlantic Records artist Lauriana Mae embraces the #MonthofMAE by releasing a new webisode series and brand new music. Since the release of her debut EP, “LOVE MAE,” Lauriana has been busy headlining at infamous venues, like New York City’s SOB’s, spotted working with hitmakers, like Kwamé, Claude Kelly, and Q-Tip, and preparing for the release of her album, set to drop later this year.
