Keyshia Cole is currently busy promoting her latest single “I Choose You,” and her successful new shoe line with Steve Madden. The R&B songstress recently spoke to our friends at TrueExclusives, and dished on her latest work.
Keyshia revealed that she is indeed working on both a mixtape, along with her next album. While, she only has 1 song recorded for the mixtape project, and no intended title yet, the project is in the works. She touched on the rumored beef between her and Michelle Williams, clearing the air and saying they are cool. Keyshia also denied the rumor that she split up with her husband, confirming she and Daniel Boobie Gibson are still married, and it’s all love.
She spoke about the new shoe line, revealed she has recorded a remake of J. Cole & Miguel’s “Power Trip,” and said a tour with K. Michelle might happen.
Keyshia Cole faces a tough decision in the black-and-white video for her monster ballad “I Choose You.” The R&B songstress is in love with two men, but she can’t decide on just one. The heartfelt song, which appears on last year’s album Woman to Woman, was written by Elijah Blake.
“Mary [J. Blige] sung it before I did and Jennifer Hudson sung it before I did as well and neither one of them took it,” said Keyshia during her appearance on “106 & Park.” “When I recorded it, we definitely paid for it right away. We was like, ‘Nobody else is recording this song. We’re taking it.’”
During her visit to BET, she also addressed the rumors that she and her husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson are having marital issues. “It’s all good. I’m living my life and I’m trying to do the best that I can do and the best way that I can do it,” she said. “If they wanna keep talking, they can keep talking. God is good to me and he’s blessed me so much.”
Keyshia recently launched her shoe collection with Steve Madden and is working on her next album.

Keyshia Cole was the second performer to hit the mainstage at Saturday’s ESSENCE Music Festival. The veteran singer stormed the stage to a roaring applause as she belted out “Shoulda Let You Go.” Cole ran through favorite after favorite from her 5 album catalog.
After taking a break to change outfits, Keyshia paid homage to the late Etta James by singing a snippet of “At Last.” She transitioned into “Love,” off her debut album, The Way It Is, and asked fans which song she should perform (“I Remember” or “Trust & Believe”) for she wanted to do both but the set timer on stage was running out. The crowd roared for “Trust & Believe.” With only two minutes on the clock, Keyshia closed her set with a short version of her hit, “Let It Go.”
