Danja & Kevin Cossom Reminisce On Creating “Knock You Down” for ‘Throwback Thursdays”

Super producer Danja has been sharing unreleased beats and songs for his ‘Throwback Thursdays’ series. For this weeks release the platinum hitmaker takes a slightly different approach. Sitting with singer/songwriter Kevin Cossom in the studio, the two reminisce and recollect the story of creating their #1 hit song “Knock You Down” by Keri Hilson.

Danja and KC reveal the song was originally created in a session at Daddy’s House in NYC for Bad Boy group Day 26, however it was passed on. Following that they played the song for Polow Da Don, who they claim, immediately fell in love with the track and thought it would be perfect for Keri.

Eric Bellinger Talks New Usher & Keri Hilson Albums

In a new clip from Eric Bellinger‘s chat with Rap-Up TV, the singer/songwriter shares some details about his work with Usher on his upcoming album. He explained the direction is more R&B, more Urban, and Usher has admitted, “This is the one where I have to show I’m still Usher.” Eric has been in the studio working with Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox and Brian Alexander Morgan on tracks for the superstar.

If you weren’t aware Eric and Usher have formed a very strong working relationship. They recently collaborated on the Diplo-produced “Go Missin’” and previously worked on records including “Lemme See,” “I Care for U,” and our favorite, “What Happened To U” off Looking 4 Myself.

In addition to helping resurface the R&B side of superstars like Usher and Chris Brown, Eric has also been in the lab working with Keri Hilson on her new album. “We worked on a song with RoccStar and Timbaland that’s absolutely something that you haven’t heard. It’s just completely different,” said Bellinger, whose mixtape Born II Sing, Vol. III drops here on April 15. “Timbaland has come back and recreated his sound.”

Keri Hilson Says Justin Timberlake & Timbaland Can Redefine The Sound of Radio with New Music

During their chat at the Gillette ‘Kiss & Tell’ event, Rap-Up TV asked Keri Hilson about Justin Timberlake’s return to music. The R&B chanteuse was very enthusiastic about what she has heard and the studio chatter. With JT’s comeback single “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z, already heating up the charts, and his first album in six years, The 20/20 Experience, coming March 19, fans everywhere are very curious what the hitmakers have in store. Keri shared that in her opinion when Justin and Timbaland get together in the right modes, they can change or redefine the sound of music on the radio.

“They both are capable of redefining the sound of radio, and I believe, based upon what I’ve heard, they’re gonna do that again,” she told Rap-Up TV. “So I’m proud of them and I’m excited for what’s about to happen.”

Timbaland has been working with Keri on her third album as well. “I’m all about blending the worlds of pop and hip-hop and R&B all in a pot,” said Keri of the follow-up to 2010’s No Boys Allowed.


Keri Hilson Talks New Album, Eyes Kanye West Collaboration

Keri Hilson is ready to make her return to music. During her appearance assisting in the launch of Gillette’s ‘Kiss & Tell‘ experiment on Wednesday, the songstress shared some details about her new project with Rap-Up TV. Keri explained she needed to take a personal and professional break for a little moment, but now she feels the time is right to return. “I’m ready now. I’m back in the studio and I’m super inspired. Songs and ideas are just gushing out of me,” she explained.

Sharing some details on her third album, which will still be executive produced by Timbaland and Polow Da Don, she revealed the hopes for another collaboration with Kanye West. Plus, she shared what kind of father does she think ‘Ye will be?


Keri Hilson Asks Los Angeles Couples To “Kiss & Tell”

Keri Hilson is ready to return to the spotlight this year. For her first appearance the “Pretty Girls Rock” singer helped kick off Gillette’s 15-city ‘Kiss & Tell’ Live Experiment on the Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday, by asking women which kiss is best: a kiss with stubble or smooth shaven skin.

Keri is currently prepping for her next studio album, with the first single expected soon.

Keri Hilson Talks Movie Role and New Album for 2013

Although this year was mild for Keri Hilson, she plans to make her return in 2013. With her performance last week on VH1 Divas she gave a short interview backstage on her future plans. Hilson shared that she was a theater major in college and she is excited to make her acting debut alongside Vin Diesel in the sci-fi film, The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.

In addition to acting, Keri also revealed that she is readying her next album for sometime in 2013, but hopes to have a single out in the first quarter. This will be the follow-up to her sophomore album ‘No Boys Allowed.’ “My fans have been super patient with me. I took a little break, and I’m back,” said the singer-songwriter.

Keri Hilson Celebrates Birthday In Atlanta

Keri Hilson celebrated her birthday in Atlanta last night with her family and friends at the STK Restaurant. Wale, B.O.B., and more celebrated with her at the Vanquish night club. Keri Hilson will be hitting the stage next Sunday, December 16th, on VH1 Divas to celebrate the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer.
