Keke Palmer Accuses Trey Songz of ‘Intimidation’ in Unauthorized Video Cameo

On Friday, Trey Songz and Fabolous released a music video for their MIKExANGEL-featured song “Pick Up the Phone.” The visual was filmed in a small house party, and some fans were surprised to see a cameo from singer/actress Keke Palmer.

However, shortly after the video appeared online, Palmer released a group of video messages saying that her cameo was not approved, and on a more serious note, that it was an example of women being pressured and not treated fairly.

“This is preposterous. How am I in this video Trey?” she wrote on Instagram. “After you found me in a closet HIDING because I was so afraid of anymore conflict. Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did not want to be in the video the FIRST time.”

In the post, Keke also claimed she was disrespected and sexually intimidated at the party. “Just cause you give someone food and alcohol and throw in a little sexual intimidation doesn’t mean they will buckle,” Palmer wrote. “Yet, you still disrespected me as a young women, whom you’ve known since she was TWELVE. YOU STILL, defied my wishes and in turn showed your lack of respect for a brand that took me fourteen years to build and put me in the video against my wishes.”

Watch Keke Palmer’s ‘Lauren’ EP Visual

Keke Palmer had much more in store for fans with her brand new Lauren project. Coinciding with the EP release, the talented singer/actress has unleashed a feature length visual set to the music.

Over 16 minutes, the multi-faceted star delivers banger after banger through various plots and themes. From the opening scene, in which Keke encourages listeners to believe in themselves, Palmer sets the tone for an artistic journey that includes documentary-style vignettes.

“Doubtful” kicks things off with rain-filled, black-and-white scenes that are likely symbolic. Moving forward with Lauren, “GMFU” is a hotel room spectacle featuring a hilarious foul-mouthed muppet named Cousin M. “Shawty, I’m a 22-year-old boss,” Palmer sings confidently. “Caught up in my fame / Want me to be the girlfriend / Not me.”

Keke Palmer Announces ‘Lauren’ EP

Keke Palmer is about to introduce us to Lauren.

On Monday (Oct. 24), the singer/actress announced her five-track EP, which is set to drop through Island Records.

Produced by Sean Garrett, the project is being billed as R&B meets trap-soul.

This year, Keke has unleashed a flurry of tracks, including “Reverse Psychology,” “Yellow Lights” and the Jeremih-assisted “Enemiez.” In June, she also liberated her lost album Waited to Exhale from the vault.

As if that wasn’t enough, Keke is also planning to release her book I Don’t Belong To You via Simon & Schuster in January.

Lauren, which refers to Keke’s first name, is set to drop Nov. 4.

Video: Keke Palmer – Reverse Psychology

Keke Palmer is back with a strong message for her man, flipping gender roles in the video for her new song “Reverse Psychology.”

The clip opens with a quote about its theme. “To change the thoughts of men, it takes a real woman to reverse his psychology.”

In the semi-black and white visual, the singer/actress flips the script on her man by feeding him the lies he told her.

“What if I told you I was out loving another man? / What if I told you it didn’t mean a thing,” she sings over the guitar-laced beat. “What if I told you that I loved you so, but these hoes, I can’t let go? / Could you handle all the things that you told me?”

Palmer opened up about the visual’s concept — which also features the shadowy figure that she’s been using in videos like “Yellow Lights” and “Enemiez.”

“I think for me, especially with the continuation of my shadow kids, it’s all about awareness,” Palmer tells Billboard. “I think, while staying true to myself and whatever my current disposition is, it’s important for me to display consciousness or the process of being aware of your thoughts as a young person. Whether it be abstract or actual or both.”
