It’s been two years since Jennifer Hudson‘s last album, and new music is rare from the vocalist. While, the Oscar and Grammy winner continues to stay very busy with her acting, she is working hard on her forthcoming third album. Music industry icon and mentor Clive Davis has been very vocal about his desire to create a masterpiece album from J-Hud.

As fans await news of the albums expected release and or first single, a newly unreleased record from the Chicago native has surfaced online. The strong confident balled titled, “Gone, Gone, Gone,” is about a fed up female, who has had just about enough of a deadbeat dude. A topic which unfortunately never gets old. All cheer, Candice is here! ‘American Idol’ season 12 came to an end on Thursday night and the much-loved Candice Glover was crowned the winner!  In a surprise announcement, and only hours after confetti fell to the “Idol” stage, the South Carolina singer revealed the news that her debut album is coming out this July.

Usher, Kelly Rowland & Jennifer Hudson Honor Legends at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Some of today’s biggest stars turned out to honor some legends at the 28th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Kelly Rowland took the stage to induct Donna Summer, while Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to the late disco queen with a medley of her hits “Bad Girls” and “Last Dance.”

“I’m pretty sure that me and a lot of you were made to that record,” said the Destiny’s Child diva of Summer’s hit “Love to Love You Baby.”

Oprah Winfrey was on hand to welcome Quincy Jones into the history books, and Usher serenaded the iconic producer with a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You.”

The ceremony will be broadcast May 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.  See more photos below:

Jennifer Hudson paid a visit to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on Monday night. The multi-talented star talked to Jimmy about her energy stone and how it helps with her nerves. Jen spoke about performing at various major events like the Oscars, and Inauguration, and the weird coincidence between naming her dogs after awards and then winning them.

In the second clip she tells the story of how she insulted director Quentin Tarantino to his face without knowing it, and she talks about her upcoming Lifetime movie ‘Call Me Crazy.’ Peep the comedic interview below:

Jennifer Hudson tore down the stage at the 85th annual Academy Awards on Sunday. The Oscar winner delivered a roaring performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls as a part of the tribute to musicals performance which included Catherine Zeta-Jones singing “And All That Jazz” from Chicago, and the Les Miserables cast performing “One Day More.”

Jennifer Hudson Begins Work On New Album

Jennifer Hudson is getting back to the music. Following her performances at the Inaugural Ball, the Super Bowl and now starring on NBC’s “Smash,” the Oscar/Grammy winner is back in the studio. J-Hud was back in the lab on Monday, beginning work on her third album. She tweeted photos of herself in the studio with producer Salaam Remi.

Billboard has released some official footage from Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala which was held this past Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The night honored music executive L.A. Reid and included outstanding performances from many of music’s hottest talents, including R&B stars Usher, Miguel, Jennifer Hudson, Gladys Knight, Emeli Sandé and more. Speaking with Billboard last week, Davis revealed he is currently working on Jennifer Hudson’s next record, and a project with Aretha Franklin.
