Jake&Papa bring back their “#SoulfulSunday’s” series following their well-received December releases. For the first Sunday of 2013, the R&B duo unleash the celebratory song “New Money“. It is an upbeat, lighthearted track celebrating the beginning of a New Year and speaking success into existence.

“There is an old tradition, going back generations…saying that when you eat a spoon full of black eyed peas on New Years, it’s supposed to bring you good luck, money and blessings,” explained the R&B duo. “Our older sister made them this year and pretty much inspired this song. A New Year of changes, progression and success. Whatever 2013 has for us, we’re ready. We had our spoon full of black eyed peas this year, so that New Money is coming. Cheers!”

As the final release of 2012, from Jake&Papa’s “#SoulfulSunday’s” series, the R&B brothers are sharing the acapella, “Hide & Seek”, a remake of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek,” fused with Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.” The song is a classic story of heartbreak, betrayal and deception and the attempt to begin the road of overcoming it.

“This song is a reflection of our roots,” explain the duo. “We’ve always admired and enjoyed creating intricate acapellas. So we took this classic heartbreak by Imogene Heap and built our own version of it – with no instrumentation, only our voices – in order to tell our personal portion of it!”

Jake&Papa release the second song from their #SoulfulSundays series. The brand new track is titled, “Team JP (Oh Baby),” and is an ode to the duo’s loyal fan base.

“Team JP is a song that embodies the JP lifestyle and a tribute to our fans,” explain the brothers. Team JP are the best supporters in the world. It’s a song they can call their own and turn up to, a celebration for a journey, past, present and future!”

R&B brothers Jake&Papa return with the first song in their new music release series #SoulfulSundays for the month of December, to offer special holiday gifts to their growing fanbase. This first track they have dropped is titled “Light Show,” produced by Jaylian and featuring rapper DUBB.

“Light Show is a song for the dreamers, while telling a piece of our own story,” explained Jake&Papa. “Since we were lil’ boys our dream has been to “perform for the world” or in other words see the Light Show.. No matter what obstacles, hurdles, set backs, we’ll be damned if we don’t see the Light Show!”
