Music history was made in Atlanta last night, as Jermaine Dupri pulled off an epic concert at the Fox Theatre to celebrate So So Def’s 20th Anniversary. The stage was like a “who’s who” in chart-topping acts, as everyone from Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Usher, Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Nelly, Lil Jon, Monica, Kris Kross, Bow Wow, Anthony Hamilton, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Xscape (Latocha and Tamika Scott), T-Pain, Lil Scrappy, Youngbloodz, Bonecrusher, Dem Franchize Boyz, J-Kwon, Dondria, and Pastor Troy took the sold-out crowd on a musical trip down memory lane. The Fox Theatre was alive with the sounds of classic songs like “Money Ain’t a Thang” (JD & Jay-Z), “Jump” (Kris Kross), “Yeah” (Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon), “Who Can I Run To” (Xscape), “I Gotta Be” (Jagged Edge), “Welcome to Atlanta” (JD, Ludacris), “Give It 2 U” (Da Brat), “I Think They Like Me” (Dem Franchize Boyz), “Coming From Where I’m From” (Anthony Hamilton) and so many more!

Overwhelmed by the energy of the crowd and the support and well-wishes of his celebrity friends, Dupri was humbled: “Wow…this is crazy,” he said. “We did it! Thank you everyone – the fans, the artists..ain’t nobody f’in with my clique!”

Photos: Jermaine Dupri Hosts Private Dinner for So So Def 20th Anniversary

JD & Jagged Edge

Last night, Jermaine Dupri kicked off the So So Def 20th Anniversary Weekend by treating his So So Def roster to an intimate dinner at a top secret location in Atlanta. Artists such as Bow Wow, Chris Kelly (Kris Kross), Da Brat, Jagged Edge, LaTocha and Tamika Scott (Xscape), Dondria, Bonecrusher, Youngbloodz, Dem Franchize Boyz, and Fresco Kane along with veteran music exec Michael Mauldin (JD’s father) were in attendance, as JD and staff served the guests a lavish meal prepared by Chef Michael Hebb and custom “Afroman” cake by Jaxon Pastries. The gathering was a happy reunion, as many artists hadn’t seen each other in years – some had never even met! “In all these years, this is the first time that Bow Wow and Chris Kelly have ever met,” announced Dupri during the dinner. “Bow Wow is a product of Kris Kross, so the fact that we can bring everyone together like this means a lot.”

“This is my way of saying thank you for helping me build the So So Def empire,” continued Dupri. “This is a historical moment, so tonight I’m celebrating you. Sit back, relax…I’m gonna serve you. But enjoy it, because that will never happen again!”

The So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert goes down tomorrow Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:30pm at the Fox Theatre Atlanta. See pics below…
