New Video: Tamar Braxton – My Man

Tamar Braxton ripped the stage at the 2017 BET Awards with a stellar performance of her new hit single “My Man.” Quickly following her performance, the singer/reality star debuted the cinematic music video to the ballad.

Shot in black-and-white, the tale of infidelity inspired by her actual parents is brought to life by the R&B siren herself. After discovering that her man is having an affair with a friend, Tamar finds the hotel where they are laid up and busts through the door.

Slamming the girl into the bathroom sink, she tells off her husband, leaving him shocked and surprised.

“Word around town is that you live with her / And you said that she took your heart away / I told them that’s a lie / Cause I don’t want to hear no bullshit stories about my man,” she sings.

Tamar is currently prepping for the release of her new album, which she will be releasing later this year through her own independent imprint, Tamartian Land Records and Entertainment One.

BET continued with their grand honor of New Edition on Sunday’s award show.  Going well over the scheduled end time of 11:30 PM ET to do so, the iconic R&B group received an amazing tribute by the stars of The New Edition Story movie, and were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Following performance covers of some of their biggest hits by the young cast members, the whole New Edition took the stage to accept the priceless honor. “30-plus years in the music industry will chew you up and spit you out, but all six of us are standing onstage right now. What an amazing thing,” said Ronnie DeVoe.

After their speeches the group quickly changed clothes and returned to the stage to perform a medley of hits, including “Mr. Telephone Man” and “Can You Stand the Rain.”

Before receiving the award, Queen Latifah–who was one of the presenters admitted, “I still bump ‘If It Isn’t Love’ in my whip. We can all agree [New Edition] transcends generations and have earned the title living legends.”

Trey Songz 2017 BET Awards

Trey Songz brought the sexy R&B early at the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday night.

Mr. Steal Your Girl gave a sensual medley performance of two tracks off his latest album, Tremaine. Trigga opened his set with “Nobody Else But You” surrounded by smoke. He sang to a single dancer, moving from center stage to a bench and then to the floor.

The subtle romancing didn’t last long though, and Trey brought out the “Animal.” For the provocative cut the R&B heartthrob was joined by a crew of scantily-clad ladies, whom he sang to.

“I’m a boss, I’m a boss, I’m the leader of the pack,” he sang, while the dancers lined up on a plush bench. “Boomerang, boomerang, baby, gon’ and throw it back / Do your thing, do your thing, girl, you don’t know how to act.”
