Akon has been pretty absent with new music, dropping one single in 2012, his delayed album Stadium never showed up, and we are beginning to think that might be a past thought. But, with the New Year here, a new song has recently surfaced, and it’s not half bad. Nearly four years after releasing Freedom, Akon returns to the scene with “America’s Most Wanted,” the first single from his oft-delayed album Stadium, due September 11. “You’re America’s most wanted tonight/ I’ll do my 25 to life if I can have you by my side,” sings the Konvict Muzik CEO on the dance-pop record, which he debuted at the Miss USA competition.
Akon picked the perfect stage to introduce his brand new single “America’s Most Wanted,” at Sunday night’s 2012 Miss USA Pageant. During the “Final Look” portion of the competition the dapper hitmaker debuted the brand new song off his upcoming album, Stadium, due September 11. “You’re America’s most wanted tonight/ I’ll do my 25 to life if I can have you by my side,” sings Akon on the Auto-Tuned record.

Akon puts up a fight in the gritty video for “Hurt Somebody,” the Jerry Wonda produced street single off his oft-delayed album Stadium, due September 11. To vent his frustrations, Akon enters a boxing match and leaves victorious. He explained the message he was trying to convey during an interview on “106 & Park.”
“It’s really to promote non-gun violence. If you got a problem with somebody, ya’ll should just take it in the ring,” said Akon, who gained weight for the role. “We men, let’s handle it. If we can’t talk about it, then let’s fight about it.”
The video also stars Bad Boy rapper French Montana, who was previously signed to Akon’s Konvict Muzik label. “At the time where I had him, I was just too focused on the pop stuff,” admitted his former boss, who helped discover Lady Gaga.

Akon has decided to give back to the streets that made him with a brand new free mixtape. As many have become leery of the release his oft-delayed album Stadium, the worldwide hitmaker delivers this new project to hold fans over, as he continues to prep the LP. With his latest Jerry Wonda-produced street single, “Hurt Somebody” featuring French Montana, building buzz he teamed up with DJ Noodles for “The Koncrete” Mixtape.
