New Video: 2 Chainz feat. Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign, & Jhené Aiko – It’s A Vibe

The vibes are super strong in the swaggy new video for 2 Chainz recent star-studded collaboration, “It’s A Vibe” featuring Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign & Jhené Aiko.

The Atlanta rap star kicks off the visual in a sexy lounge club where he enjoys the company of some beautiful woman and a live band. The next vibe brings forth Ty Dolla, who sings his portion in a strip club kind of setting. Meanwhile, Trigga plays an alluring passenger in a drop top convertible, kicking game to a model.

“Okay, so I’ve got the ambiance just where I want it,” raps 2 Chainz. In a candle-lit room, he raps for a couple of lingerie-clad models. Then, wearing a mask, he transitions into a darker vibe, where chains fill up a dark room with curvaceous women dressed in black.

Jhené’s vibe is also quite dark, as she plays the role of this mysterious location’s boss. Counting money while getting her feet massaged, she sings about busting it wide.

“It’s a Vibe” is a single off 2 Chainz’ forthcoming album, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. Initially set for release this month, the album has been pushed back to an undetermined date.

Stream Lloyd’s ‘Tru’ EP

lloyd-tru-cover

After a five-year hiatus Lloyd has returned with his anticipated EP, Tru.  The R&B crooner may have experienced a lot of special life moments during his time away from music, but he picks up right where he left off with the stellar 5-track project, named after the introspective title track.

Beyond the single and its remix featuring 2 Chainz, the EP is comprised of the tracks “Heavenly Body” featuring Rick Ross, “Holding” featuring Lil Wayne and “Excited.”

“I’ve never attacked the content of my life like this,” Lloyd told Billboard. “The EP and album were inspired by all kinds of biographical storylines of the past few years. And the bottom line message is that there’s nothing wrong with being who you are. I really enjoy the fact that no one is perfect or imperfect. That’s the message I’m sharing.”

Stunning fans with the bold cover image, which features Lloyd sitting completely nude on a rock waterfall in the woods of north Georgia, the photo is symbolic of his inspiration for the music. “It was really more of an introspective thing,” he told Complex. “Although what you see on the outside is a guy who is apparently balls-to-the-wall naked in the woods near a waterfall, it’s really a moment for me to conquer all the fears that I might have had. All the inhibitions, the insecurities that usually exist in a person; to me it’s no exception. Insecurities of the body, being free in a public place.”

This was particularly important for Lloyd because he says the album is meant to showcase that bare naked honesty. “People try to hide their flaws,” he says, “but I think the flaws make them a beautiful person. And that’s what Tru is all about.”

Next year, Lloyd is planning to release his first full-length album since 2011’s King of Hearts, the project will be titled Out My Window.

New Music: Lloyd feat. 2 Chainz – Tru (Remix)

lloyd-2-chainz-tru

Through it all, Lloyd just wants to keep it “Tru.”

The R&B crooner’s introspective comeback single, just got a little bit deeper with the official remix featuring 2 Chainz.

The ATL rap star kicks off the track with a few thought-provoking questions. “I want you to look in the mirror right now. I want you to ask yourself, ‘Are you happy with what you see? Are you happy of what you’ve become and where you’re going in life?’,” asks Chainz.

Then, he recalls less-privileged days without heat, when it was hard to get rest. “To my loved ones, still can’t sleep at night / Need an Ambien, an ambulance with lights,” he raps while Lloyd keeps his original, sincere verses about his time away from music.

Lloyd is currently prepping for the release of his Tru EP, which is due out Dec. 9. Take a listen to the title track’s remix below.

Watch: Kehlani and 2 Chainz Interview Each Other

Kehlani 2 Chainz

This past weekend at The FADER FORT in Austin, Texas an unlikely pair met up and conducted a hilarious interview with each other, which they got on film of course.

While hanging backstage, Kehlani was introduced to 2 Chainz and the two shared a joint of kush while getting to know one another. They compared kicks, he was wearing one red and one blue, and hers had matching red and blue heel loops. They talked about their first tattoos, why staying authentic to your process is the best way to make music and leave out the pressure, how Kehlani categorizes her music, why 2 Chainz sleeps in his watch and more.

Listen: The-Dream Joins 2 Chainz On Boastful New Track “Goat”

2Chainz-Dream

As The-Dream prepares for the release of new music (that we’re all here for), he’s holding us over by jumping on tracks for a few friends – one in particular being ATL rapper 2 Chainz.

Having previously collaborated on the 2 Chainz track “Extremely Blessed” as well as The-Dream’s last album, IV Play, with the song “Turnt,” the two are now back with another one titled “Goat.”

Opening up with a hard verse from 2 Chainz over 808 thumps, the B. Wheezy and Mike Dean-production then has Dream come in to lay down his seductive lyrics. Singing out, “I’m on my Bobby Brown, babe / Put it on me, tenderoni / And I got one of you in every town to put it on me, I’m never lonely,” the falsetto laced verse makes us anticipate his upcoming album even more.
