Tinashe Is A Vision In Paper Magazine + Performs “All My Friends” Acapella

tinashe-paper-5

Tinashe is a vision in lingerie, and more clothes too, in her new photo shoot for Paper magazine.

The R&B/Pop star graces the cover of the mag’s new “Youth Issue,” posing in various sexy and stunning scenes. One in particular finds the singer/songwriter recreating Rolling Stone‘s racy Britney Spears shoot from 1999. She wears a lacy pink bra, underwear, and silky pink robe, while stretched out on pink sheets and holding a pink phone.

In other shots, she rocks a pink top and shorts by Moschino and a white fur shawl while standing on a diving board. She also dons a feathery yellow dress while whipping up in the kitchen.

In the interview, Tinashe discusses her anticipated sophomore album Joyride, demanding respect, and how she deals with industry pressure.

In addition to her latest photo spread, Tinashe gave her hometown radio station, Power 106, an exclusive a cappella performance of her collaboration with Snakehips, “All My Friends.”

Check out the performance, photos, and highlights from the interview below.

Yes!! Stars Come Out for “Black Girls Rock! 2016”

BlackGirlsRock2016

On Friday night (April 1), BET filmed their annual “Black Girls Rock! Awards” at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross, the star-packed evening featured special tributes and celebrated honorees including, Rihanna (Rock Star Award), legendary singer Gladys Knight, writer-producer Shonda Rhimes, actress and playwright Danai Gurira, young actress and activist Amanda Stenberg, plus Black Lives Matter founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton even made a special appearance to honor and introduce Black Girls Rock! founder Beverly Bond. Speaking to the audience she said, “There are still a lot of barriers holding back African Americans and black women in particular, so a gathering like this filled with so many powerful, strong women is a rebuke to every single one of those barriers. All of our kids, no matter what zip code they live in, deserve a good teacher and a good school, a safe community and clean water to drink.”

As the final honoree of the evening, Rihanna shared her humble feelings on receiving her award. “Thank you so much for celebrating us in a world that doesn’t celebrate us enough,” she said. “The minute you learn to love yourself you will not want to be anybody else. Role model is not the title they like to give me, which is why tonight, it is so important. I know I am inspiring girls to be themselves and that’s half the battle.”

The Barbados-born singer also thanked her mother and grandmother for being strong black women and excellent role models. “Hopefully one day I’ll be raising my own little black girl who rocks,” she said.

The special evening also brought out many of R&B’s best, including performers Jazmine Sullivan, Monica, Brandy, and Marsha Ambrosius, as well as Kelly Rowland, Ledisi, Erykah Badu, Andra Day, Corrine Bailey Rae, and even Lauryn Hill, who closed the show with a surprise performance.

“Black Girls Rock!” 2016 will air on BET April 5 at 8 PM ET. Check out some of the special moments and photos from the red carpet below!

Beyoncé Covers Elle Magazine US & UK

Beyonce-ElleUS

Beyoncé season is quickly approaching and if you weren’t ready for what it had to offer, you surely better get prepared.

While earlier today saw the powerhouse release the first of (hopefully) many promotional commercials for her “Ivy Park” active wear brand, brought to us by Topshop, Mrs. Carter – dressed in “Ivy Park” attire, of course – has now unveiled not one, but two covers of ELLE magazine.

Gracing the covers and pages of both ELLE‘s US and UK versions, Bey looks as flawless as can be as she discussed the Ivy Park line, feminism, and “The Power of Beyoncé”. Whether you’re an official member of the Beyhive or just a person who dabbles in her sound every now and again, there’s no denying the impact Beyoncé has had on the world since she stepped in the game almost two decades ago.

We hope you’re ready for the whirlwind that is Beyoncé because we’re sure it’s going to be one heck of a touchdown!

Beyonce Showcases “Ivy Park” Line In New Topshop Commercial & Photos

Beyonce

If you were wondering if Beyoncé‘s new album was on the way or not, we still can’t confirm, BUT we can confirm that her long-talked about collaboration with Topshop is finally ready to be revealed.

Delivering the first of what we assume to be many commercials promoting the brand, the megastar gives us a glimpse at her world through a two minute visual. Dressed in Ivy Park workout attire, the gorgeous mother shows off her workout routines while she reminisces about the days that her father would wake her up in the morning to go running.

From running, stretching, jump roping in the rain and more, Beyoncé proves just why she’s one of the hardest working women in the industry that has no intentions of letting up anytime soon. Ivy Park hits Topshop, Nordstrom, and Net-A-Porter stores everywhere on April 14.

Caution: If you’re not looking for motivation to head to the gym, make sure you stay away from watching this commercial!

Jhené Aiko and Big Sean Introduce TWENTY88 on ‘Flaunt’ Magazine Cover

twenty88-flaunt-cover

Introducing TWENTY88. Jhené Aiko and Big Sean surprised fans with the announcement of their mysterious new duo. Now, the frequent collaborators are opening up about what listeners can expect from their joint venture in a cover story for Flaunt magazine‘s May issue.

“Music now doesn’t really cater to the feelings of a real relationship,” said the now-married Aiko, who rocks a killer orange wig in the shoot by photographer Christian Anwander. “It’s all about trapping and bragging. I feel like this project is something that’s needed right now…Especially a whole project, is just good for people to see. That duality is a perfect combination.”

The self-titled project has reportedly been in the works since summer 2015. The sound ranges from “turned up” to “melodic,” while remaining “cohesive,” according to Sean. Flaunt also reports that it combines ’90s R&B and ’70s experimental rock and soul, and includes a collaboration with K-Ci and JoJo “Two-Minute Warning.”

“It was usually just me, Jhené, and the engineer,” explained Sean. “I had a lot of the raw ideas, and she would build them up. But it was pretty natural and organic.”

TWENTY88, who get comfortable and close in their Flaunt shoot, have a long history together. They started out as friends and then shared a “fun” first date at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2012. Since then, the duo has remained friendly, collaborating on tracks like “Beware” and “I Know.”

Fans should also expect a short film from the duo, one in which Sean and Jhené portray adult film stars. TWENTY88 will be available for download and streaming on April 1.

k-michelle-calendar

With her third studio album, More Issues Than Vogue, in stores now, R&B songstress K. Michelle has delivered another special gift for fans to bring the singer into their homes.

As her music has often over the years, the new LP contains many personal tracks that find the Memphis native embracing her emotions and flaws. These thoughts are continued openly and visualized in her 2016 calendar, which spotlights her beauty and reveals her inner thoughts.

“I have no shame,” she shares for March. “I see nothing wrong with using plastic surgery to enhance one’s natural beauty. But I now realize that surgery doesn’t heal self-esteem issues. The prettier I believed I became on the outside, the more I craved acknowledgement on my inner beauty.”

The 138th annual event boasted a star-studded guest list including Monica and Shaquille O’Neal, as well as performers Silento and Trevor Jackson. Jay Z also snapped a photo of Monica and her sons, Romelo and Rocko, posing with Bey and her mother Tina Lawson.
