The iHeartRadio Music Festival returned to Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena for two days of the biggest music stars on the planet. Friday’s jam-packed lineup included Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Usher, Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, and Coldplay, with plenty of surprises.

Queen Nicki delivered her biggest hits including “Super Bass,” “Beez in the Trap,” and “Anaconda,” and even spit her verse on Beyoncé’s “Flawless (Remix)” a cappella. She also brought out Ariana Grande for “Bang Bang,” and closed with “Starships.”

Ariana served up a soaring set of her own with “The Way” and “Problem,” as well as new cuts off her No. 1 album My Everything. While her rumored boyfriend Big Sean was backstage, Childish Gambino joined her on stage for “Break Your Heart Right Back.”

Usher lit up the arena with his UR singles “Good Kisser” and “She Came to Give It to You,” and surprised the crowd by bringing out Chris Brown for “New Flame.”

Surprise guest Alicia Keys, whose second child is due in November, showed off her baby bump and blessed the stage with her empowering new anthem “We Are Here.”

Ariana Grande Covers Marie Claire

agmc

It seems like a little bit of everyone has something to say about Ariana Grande, and we’re not in opposition to joining in.

While the 21-year-old sensation found another range of success with her sophomore album My Everything, it also seems as if she’s finding it with landing another magazine cover. This time posing for famed Marie Claire, Ariana is turning in her “teen” card and pulling out the more adult looks.

Dishing on a few of her “firsts,” her hair, her plans of shooting to the top, and more, this is one read that you won’t want to miss. On her desire to sing R&B, Ariana stated: “I was 14 years old and ready to make an R&B album. I was like, ‘Where is that Mary J. Blige collab? Where is that Natasha Bedingfield writing session? Where is my session with India.Arie? I’m ready. Let’s go.”

Proving that she has more than the talent to fulfill all that her heart desires, we’re all here for what Ariana is supplying us with. Until the issue hits shelves on September 16, cheek out a few shots from the shoot below and get a sneak peek of the interview here!

Alicia Keys Throws ‘Coming to America’ Birthday Bash for Swizz Beatz

Alicia Keys might be the best wife ever! The soon-to-be mother-of-two threw her husband Swizz Beatz a legendary 36th birthday party fit for a king on Thursday night.

The R&B songstresss brought Africa to Capitale NYC, modeling the extravagant bash after Eddie Murphy’s 1988 classic comedy Coming to America.  The star-studded guest list included Diddy, DMX, Busta Rhymes, Naomi Campbell, A$AP Ferg, Carmelo and La La Anthony, and Swizz’ ex-wife Mashonda.

His royal highness took his seat in a throne on stage surrounded by family, while a pregnant Alicia made her grand entrance in a white gown, walking across the dance floor to the beat of tribal dancers.

“My party was Epic thx to all my fam & Friends for a timeless moment. I’m still in shock,” said Swizz, who is expecting his second child with Alicia in December.

Ciara Hits The Studio With Diane Warren To Make ‘Timeless Music’

Ciara & Diane Warren

It’s been quite the roller coaster year for singer Ciara. With the birth of her first son, Future Zahir, and drama with her now on-again rapper beau Future, it must be really difficult to keep focus on her first love: music.

Not to fret though, the performer has been busy in the studio working on the follow-up to 2013’s self-titled album with the likes of Dr. Luke and now…Diane Warren!

Known for creating hit ballads for artists such as Beyonce, Tina Turner, the late Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, and more, Diane’s roster of hits has spanned well beyond her time in the industry.

Taking to Instagram to post the above shot, Ciara captioned the post, “Finally!! Me and @Diane_Warren. #TimelessMusic.”

While it’s not clear exactly what direction Ciara will be going with this album or even what her and Diane may be working on, we’re sure it’s going to be something very well put together.

After the jump check out some new pics of Cici and baby Future:

First Look: Joe – ‘If You Lose Her’ (Video)

Joe iylh-still-1

Last week, R&B veteran Joe announced that the official second single off his No. 1 album Bridges, is the powerful and thought-provoking ballad “If You Lose Her.”

A fan favorite off the singers 11th studio album, the single speaks to a man about the consequence of neglect through their own selfish pleasures.

The recently shot music video, helmed by acclaimed director Bille Woodruff, was filmed at the historic Million Dollar Theatre in Los Angeles. The visual features a unique element, with international sand artist Kseniya Simonova creating an elaborate sand story that beautifully depicts the thought provoking lyrics. The sand story is juxtaposed with scenes of Joe performing the emotional ballad to an audience of two lovers facing a crossroads.

“If You Lose Her” is currently the No. 1 Most Added song at Urban AC radio this week. The full music video premieres Monday, September 8 on VH1 Soul and VH1.com.

On September 13 you can catch Joe performing on ‘Verses & Flow‘ at 10pm ET/9c on TV One.

Ne-Yo Announces and Previews New Single “She Knows”

Ne-Yo She Knows

Ne-Yo is just warming up as he is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album. Following the first single lifted from the project, “Money Can’t Buy” featuring Jeezy, the R&B hit maker is letting fans know the official follow-up is on the way.

Taking to social media Ne-Yo shared the cover art for the new single “She Knows” featuring Juicy J. “NEW SH*T!! “She Knows” feat. Juicy J #JustWaitOnIt #NONFICTION #TheArtOfStoryTellingIsAliveAndWell,” he wrote.

As you can see the painted image appears to be a scene in a strip club, while the singer receives a lap dance, but we will have to wait and see if it follows the implied theme. With a feature from Juicy J we can’t really assume otherwise.

In addition to the artwork, Ne-Yo posted a short preview clip of him playing the song in the studio, while singer Jojo dances along.

His sixth studio album Non-Fiction is due out November 11, check out the single preview below:
