Republic Records singer/songwriter Kiana Ledé addresses karma in a past relationship on her latest single “Fairplay.” While she preps for the release of her label debut EP, the budding artist gives her fans something new to feen over with an acoustic mashup.

Filmed in a small studio room, Ledé starts out performing her song “Fairplay” and then segues into Cardi B’s popular track “Be Careful.” Backed by just a keyboard player, Kiana gives a stellar vocal performance.

“Tell me why you mad / Tell me why you hurt / Bet you didn’t think that the tables would turn,” she sings while later adding, “Be careful with me / Do you know what you doin’? / Whose feelings that you’re hurtin’ and bruisin’? / You gon’ gain the whole world / But is it worth the girl that you’re losin’?”

Previously speaking about “Fairplay” Kiana explained, “I wrote this song when I went through a messy breakup. I got cheated on, and I was in that angry phase that you go through when you have a breakup. It was a blessing in disguise, because that relationship was affecting my growth. I needed that relationship to end so I could grow. A lot of good things were happening to me after that, so I thought, ‘Man, that’s karma.’ I feel like I put my whole heart into that relationship and good things still [came from it], even though he gave up. So what goes around, comes around.”
