Buzzing new trio Sonder–made up of singer/songwriter Brent Faiyaz and producers Atu and Dpat–emerged out of Soundcloud last year, and at the top of 2017 they released their official introduction with the project, Into.
Steadily building an organic following since and selling out shows in both Los Angeles and New York, the Alt-R&B group have finally premiered their first official music video for their lead single “Too Fast.”
The cinematic visuals, directed by Noah Lee, deliver stark imagery that depict an adaptation of the circle of life. Set in various rural landscapes, including the shore and farmland, Faiyaz is captured moving through different environments shirtless while listening to music on a Walkman. While he sings about heartbreak, his vocal compliments and contrasts the different shots which depict his life through scenes as a youth with a chest wound, literally holding his beating heart in his hand.
There is deep pain felt through experience, but in the end he matures stronger and then returns to the earth.
