New Music: Faith Evans & The Notorious B.I.G. – Ten Wife Commandments

There’s rules to this relationship ish!

Following tracks with Jadakiss and Snoop, Faith Evans surprises us with the third release off her Notorious B.I.G. duets album The King & I.

The fresh single, titled “Ten Wife Commandments,” is a flip of her late husband’s classic drug dealer’s anthem, “Ten Crack Commandments.”

Using Biggie’s Life After Death lyrics for the countdown, Faith sings about the rules to being a great wife. “Number 9,” B.I.G. raps, with Evans responding: “Should’ve been number one to me / Gotta take care of the family.”

“Ten Wife Commandments” is actually the first song that Faith worked on while crafting The King & I.  “With ‘Ten Crack Commandments’ being one of the songs I had always wanted to redo, I found it and got to work!” she told Rolling Stone. “It took a few different sessions to get the commandments to be meaningful and clever, but I do feel these are points that both men and women can appreciate.”

The King & I features appearances from Lil’ Kim, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, 112, and Snoop Dogg. It is due out May 19, two days before Biggie’s birthday.
