Lloyd Talks “Tru,” Upcoming New Music & National Anthem Protest on KMEL

Lloyd stopped by 106KMEL on Tuesday (Nov. 8) for a live studio interview with Shay Diddy, as well as give the audience an intimate performance of some of his old & new music.

During their conversation the R&B crooner spoke about his long hiatus from music and what he’s been doing since. Lloyd shared his inspiration behind his new single “Tru,” and revealed that he struggled playing the song for people before releasing it and actually cried the first time he performed the song live. Shay and Lloyd also delved into his upcoming music as they discussed his EP and his album, and his new approach to music.

Being Election Day, Lloyd talked about his involvement and performance in Hillary Clinton’s “Get Out The Vote” rally in Las Vegas, and the importance of voting. He also spoke on the National Anthem protest, and his views as a singer on participating, as well as Sevyn Streeter’s ordeal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
