Soulful vocalist Andra Day continues her triumphant delivery of content from her debut album Cheers To The Fall.
After being blessed by the talents of acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee for her “Forever Mine” video, the singer has premiered the M. Night Shyamalan-directed visuals for her inspirational anthem “Rise Up.”
Showcasing the power of devoted love with a couple who remain strong and encouraged while dealing with physical disability, Day belts out the commanding lyrics. “I’ll rise like the day, I’ll rise up / I’ll rise unafraid, I’ll rise up / And I’ll do it a thousand times again,” she sings.
CocaCola and McDonald’s recently announced Day as part of their Rise Up ESSENCE® Festival program ahead of her performance at the 2016 Essence Festival in New Orleans. The lyrics from “Rise Up” will appear on 40 million CocaCola cups in select McDonald’s restaurants across the nation and include a Shazam-powered portal into a digital experience where they can watch the “I Rise” short film starring Andra Day.
