Rising R&B singer/songwriter PJay Johnson debuts a powerful video for his single “Sticks & Stones,” in junction with National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

“A song I wrote three years ago that has more meaning than I even realized at the time. It’s about how blinding and binding love can be,” PJay says. “It can build a man up and just as easily break a man down. Love is the most powerful tool, and can be the most detrimental weapon.”

“Sticks & Stones” was produced by DeeTenn and co-produced by Antmaestro. The video was directed by Jamison Claxton and depicts PJay in a toxic relationship throughout which he develops an illness and finally succumbs to its destructiveness.

“We saw a parallel in ‘Sticks & Stones’ and the danger in reckless relationships,” he explains. “We thought this would be a good opportunity to tie in HIV/AIDS Awareness. The message is protect your heart, and also protect yourself in relationships.”

PJay Johnson is currently prepping for the release of his upcoming EP ‘Insignificant Other,’ due out later this spring. Check out the video for “Sticks & Stones” below.
