Indie artist Unica is here to make you reminisce about the fun times of the ’90s with her brand new single “Real One.”

Premiering the single with the summery visuals, the up-and-coming R&B singer-songwriter hits up the park with her man, spends time at the beach, and dances against a graffiti painted wall.

The song itself is a work of meaningful art with real content obtained from real life experiences. Unica explains, “The song ‘Real One’ to me is about finding that down to earth, best friend, type of love. The thugs, OG’s, playas, that shit is played out!… I want to find something more in a guy. Something real.”

With the lack of female artists from Toronto in the game, Unica just wants to continue to inspire other female artists to come out and express themselves the best way they know. She will release her next single “B.A.E.” in early summer 2016.

Check out her video for “Real One” below.

its OK. I love that there’s a Toronto girl out there trying to do her thing and getting some exposure cause there’s mad talent . The clear borrowing of Jade’s “don’t walk away” melody is a bit too literal for me. Hopefully she brings it a bit more on B.A.E. One to watch!
