The-Dream Debuts 10 New Songs in Art Film ‘Genesis’

We were disappointed when The-Dream canceled the release of his full Crown / Jewel album last year, but he surprised us all at the end of 2015 with his Sam Cooke covers EP IAMSAM.

Well, the singer/songwriter/producer has done it again-surprise us that is-with the premiere of a brand new film experience entitled ‘Genesis,’ which he exclusively released on TIDAL today.

The 10-song compilation, paired with a cinematic 40-minute visual, offers fans a glimpse inside the “beautiful chaos that lives within the brilliant visionary.”

The-Dream wrote and produced Genesis in four months and screened the short film at the Versace Mansion during Art Basel for a small group of friends including Pusha T, Kylie Jenner, Fabolous, and Tricky Stewart.

“This visual art project was created to give fans a glimpse of my daily thoughts,” said The-Dream in a Q&A with TIDAL. “I along with my fans are lovers of music and art, but to me those two worlds are one and the same. I can never fully explain what I see and what I hear separately, it must be fused into one.”

Genesis serves as a prequel to the new music The-Dream will be releasing later this year.
