Throwback Thursday: Tweet – Oops (Oh My)

By

Tweet is a R&B, soul, & neo soul singer-songwriter who was once a part of Jodeci’s DeVante Swing’s Swing Mob collective before returning to music to go solo.

Her breakout song, “Oops (Oh My)” featuring Missy Elliott, was the lead single off her debut album, Southern Hummingbird in 2002. It was written by Tweet and Elliott and produced by Timbaland. The single went on to become a top ten hit in the U.S. and the UK, it peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, becoming her most successful single to date.

The song pushed the envelope a bit, as it is widely believed to be about female masturbation. Earlier this month, Tweet lit up the stage at this year’s ESSENCE Festival as she performed hits from Southern Hummingbird. Enjoy the single above.

Love this . Although she denied this song is about masturbation, which it really is, its still hot.
