If you’ve watched any of Jamie Foxx‘s recent interviews for his new album, Hollywood, you’ve probably heard him talking about the new ballad “In Love By Now,” or maybe you caught him debuting it on the “American Idol” finale show Wednesday night. Either way, now the multi-talented artist has given us the full studio version of the introspective song.
Over a soft and sweet piano track, Foxx puts his heart on the line as he reflects on his life, and after all the success, he doesn’t feel complete without the life of his life.
“But I’m supposed to be love by now / I’ve been chasing a dream, now I’m chasing you / Running hard but my legs feel weak / I’ve played every part, I done played the fool / Write the movie, I’ll be your lead,” he sincerely sings.
Jamie will release his anticipated fifth studio album Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses on May 18.
