Look who’s back!
Ciara looks to resonate with listeners once again with her surprise comeback single “I Bet.” The R&B vixen puts her ex on blast on the smooth mid-tempo jam, produced by Harmony Samuels and co-written by herself and Rock City. Cici sings about a lover who did her wrong, obviously her ex-fiancé Future, who was rumored to have cheated on her, causing them to call off their engagement.
“I bet you start loving me / As soon as I start loving someone else / Somebody better than you / I bet you start needing me / Soon as you see me with someone else,” she sings on the hook.
Ciara also calls out his new chick. “Is that your bitch over there givin’ me the ugly stare / The one with the silicone ass and the Brazilian hair.”
While it comes from a personal place, the new mom hopes the song will resonate with others. “I imagine this song will be very meaningful for a lot of people. It is much bigger than any one person’s experience,” she told Billboard.
She has been in the studio with Polow Da Don, Dr. Luke, and Diane Warren working on the follow-up to 2013’s Ciara, which is due this spring. “I am truly fulfilled by this experience of making my new music,” she shared. “I was able to create everything I have aspired and hoped for as an artist. It is my favorite album I have made thus far in my career, and so excited begin my new journey. It is a new me. A new attitude.”
