Throwback Thursday: Uncle Sam – ‘I Don’t Ever Want To See You Again’

Uncle Sam is a R&B singer-songwriter from Detroit, Michigan.”I Don’t Ever Want To See You Again” was a single from his eponymous debut album.

The album was produced by the iconic R&B group Boyz II Men. The single reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and No. 2 on the R&B chart in 1997. The record sold over one million copies and allowed Uncle Sam to showcase his soulfulness. You can absolutely hear the Boyz II Men influence in the vocal styling.

Remember when R&B sounded this good? Remember when it was this deep? Uncle Sam poured his heart and soul into this record to tell the story of him finding out that his lady was cheating with his best friend.
