Adrian Marcel released his second mixtape ‘Weak After Next‘ this past summer, and greatly continued to impress his growing fan base with the quality of material he delivers. With a new EP on the way before the end of the year, a brand new single has quietly been serviced titled “Spending The Night Alone.”
After heating up the clubs with “2 AM,” the Oakland native returns to the tender, heartfelt R&B with the Rico Love-penned and Jim Jonsin produced ballad. Adrian calls out to the girl that got away, as he confesses to be overcome by his emotions.
“She got me laying here by the phone / I can’t keep spending the night alone / I’ve got all that I could ever want, but it just ain’t enough if it ain’t you baby,” he sings on the hook.
Adrian has a real knack for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and expressing the reality many experience. In today’s era of being too much of a playa to get attached, because the girls aren’t loyal either, he has been adding a nice balance.
