Centric Announces 2014 Soul Train Awards Nominations

As the year is creeping up to a close, it could only mean one thing: the Soul Train Awards are right around the corner. Filming on November 7 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, the unforgettable night will celebrate and honor R&B’s finest and most soulful artists.

Leading the race with seven nominations this year is Chris Brown, whose nominations include “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist,” “Song of the Year: for “Loyal” and “Video of the Year” for “New Flame.” Nabbing 6 nominations this year is none other than Beyoncé, and Pharrell follows with 5 nominations – both of whom are nominated for “Album of the Year.”

Other nominees this year are newcomers August Alsina and Jhené Aiko for “Best New Artist” as well as Tinashe, who is up against Usher and Chris Brown for the “Best Dance Performance” category. R&B vet Joe is nominated as well along with Ledisi, Luke James, Janelle Monae, Sam Smith, and many more.

Hosted by Wendy Williams, the event will air on Centric and BET on November 30 at 8pm.
