Following his performance at Sunday’s BET Awards, Robin Thicke traveled to NYC in promotion of his new album Paula. The R&B crooner rose bright and early on Wednesday for an appearance and performance on “Good Morning America.”

In addition to performing the lead single “Get Her Back,” Robin spoke about dedicating the album to his estranged wife. “We were childhood sweethearts,” he said. “She’s the best person I have ever met. The least I could do would be to devote an album to her.”

The album is not all sad love songs though, there are some uptempo and uplifting tracks as well. “I wanted there to be moments where she had hope and positivity that her and I can still both have a great life. No matter what happens, we’ll be great friends and great parents.”
