Beautiful songbird Elle Varner is proving to everyone that she’s still got it. Hitting BET’s 106 and Park, the big haired songstress performed her latest single, “Cold Case“.
Found on her sophomore album 4 Letter Word – which serves as the follow-up to 2012’s Perfectly Imperfect – the new single shows Elle in a different light. Citing her sound as “trap jazz,” she stated:
“It’s the product of a girl who grew up listening to Ying Yang Twins and Ella Fitzgerald. I like to keep the beat rocking, but I have those jazzy vocals. I can’t get away from that.”
Set to be released this year, 4 Letter Word is what Elle cites as an open letter. Discussing everything about coming of age as a woman, the album should be a change of lanes from its predecessor.
