John Legend has accomplished his second big milestone of the year, thanks to his No. 1 single “All of Me.”  While earlier this month the R&B crooner landed his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single with the touching piano-laden ballad, the album which spawned the song, Love In The Future, has finally gone Gold in the U.S.

The fifth studio album from Legend was originally released on September 3, 2013, and was officially certified Gold by the RIAA on May 14, due to units shipped.  Over the last sales week, Nielson Soundscan reports the album sold another 11,800 copies, bringing the LP’s total to 511,500 domestically.

This is an important feat for Legend, who becomes the first “traditional” R&B/Soul artist to reach the sales plateau since Alicia Keys 2012 album Girl On Fire.

The next single from the album is another strong love ballad titled “You & I,” which John recently performed on the season finale of American Idol.

Congrats to John!
