UK songstress Emeli Sande is back…well sort of.

With her upcoming album in the works, Emeli has some pieces of her past coming up for talks. Fortunately for her though, it’s nothing short of terrific.

Digging in the vault to pull out one of her first made records, the singer-songwriter was just as impressive then as she is now. Recorded at Marco Rea’s Barne Studio in Clydebank, Scotland, the singer created the funky duet track, “Takes.” Sounding as if it could be the theme song to a soulful Disney musical, the record was originally released by Starla Records in a small run of limited vinyl copies, with an almost impossible audio file to track down according to the Daily Record.

Up until now, the seven-inch recording – which saw Emeli going as Adele or Rio Sandé – was kept under the rug, but we’re more than happy it’s been uncovered! Rocking a curly ombré colored afro, it’s hard to even tell that it was Emeli – or whichever name she was going by back then.

Ready to hear what the vocalist has been holding out on? Take a listen after the jump!
